WHAT HAS BEEN ACHIEVED?

The number of volunteer hours since the project started has been in the order of 3182 hours.

This year the site was opened for the first time under the Heritage Open Days scheme with the support of Bromsgrove Council.

Removal of woody growth and vegetation from the kilns structure and the wider area,

Removed all forms of debris and builders rubble.

We have excavated shallow trenches across the top of the kilns in order to confirm any buried structures.

We have spent two winter seasons recovering the area of abandoned gardens just below the kilns to develop into Community Gardens.

We feel that this will add community benefit to the Lottery application and we are pleased that CRT are supporting this initiative with their Towpath Taskforce group under Tim Booker.

The construction of wooden steps to improve access for maintenance work.

The construction of post and rail fence across the top of the site which replaced the untidy Heras panel fencing.

Maintained the site to encourage visitors to take an interest and support the project.
